Offering Up Prayers

This is a set of prayers offered up as the Spirit guides me. Some pertain to events, some are general, some are for the nations and for Israel. We must always keep Israel, the nations, the Body of Christ, our family, and our friends in our daily prayers. Just like the Word of God doesn't return void, neither do the prayers of a faithful believer. Our prayers should always follow God's heart, and should move us closer to Him. Have faith that when you pray to please God's heart, they will be answered!

Torah Wisdom on Financing (Part 5)

Submitted by Al.Reaud on Wed, 11/02/2016 - 20:20

This is the fifth part of the series "Be Rich", received on Saturday, October 29, 2016. It deals with Torah wisdom on financing given by a very special guest speaker. The sermon is available at: http://www.rez.org/sermons/

  • Recommended Reading: Thou Shall Prosper: Ten Commandments for Making Money by Rabbi Daniel Lapin.
  • Jesus Christ was the greatest man that ever lived on the earth, and he spoke a lot about money and posessions.
  • Torah wisdom on financing is why the Jews are more represented in the top individuals listed by Forbes Magazine.
  • Seven Principles -
    1. Gold is good. Money is a good thing. Money is not evil. Genesis 2:12 Don't confuse cause with effect. There is a mistranslation that confuses "camel" with "rope", so a more accurate translation of what Jesus said would be: “Again I tell you, it is easier for a rope to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” - Matthew 19:24 How can a rope get into a needle? By unraveling… Gold is you, because when you put your gold into the tithe, you put you in…
    2. Gold is a testimony of service. You bought value to somebody else, unless you stole it. God put the wish for gold in us so that we can serve others more, and create value in somebody's life.
    3. More service = more gold. More service ⇒ solving more problems in the community. Send the youth out to serve society, not to serve themselves. Ask other people what they need, to bring prosperity to yourself. The more people you can serve, the greater you will be in the Kingdom of Heaven.
    4. More friends = more gold. It's not cynical, such as more gold = more friends. Go and make a list of people who would answer your calls who aren't family and you don't owe money to. It's good to make connection, so go meet with friends and talk shop or whatever!
    5. More generosity = more gold. Simple Kingdom Economy 101. You have to both receive and give. Tithing is an example. Never raise donations from a place of desperation. Believers should give the LARGEST TIPS. It's evil not to tip big. Giving money away helps us to focus on other people. Giving generously gives you influence. It allows you to create more friendships.
    6. More education = more gold. Jews are people of the Book. Education gives you power. Get books, study, put into practice, make it a habit. Keep your brain ON! enlightened
    7. Never consider retiring. Volunteer, create some value for others, serve. The word 'retired' isn't in Hebrew. God rested, but he didn't retire. Rabbis say that if the word isn't in Hebrew, it didn't come from God… wink Continue to be productive until God calls you back! Like in golf, follow through on life!

This is the fourth part of the series "Be Rich", received on Saturday, October 22, 2016. It deals with how to honor God putting your hope in Him and investing in His plan. The sermon is available at: http://www.rez.org/sermons/
Rez Serve Day is tentatively scheduled for July 15, 2017…

  • Change hell with a water pistol! Have that kind of faith…
  • God is not the god of the snapshot, He is the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob.
  • Look at the kids and invest in them…
  • Be available for others, be willing to inconvenience yourself, your back is not as bad as you think it is. Lift that weight!
  • Invest everything you have in seeing the Kingdom of God come.
  • God did not call you to take it easy and to a life of comfort. Nowhere in the Bible will you find that call…
  • Live to give God a return on his investment.
  • Stuff is temporary, souls are eternal!
  • Step outside the walls of your church…
  • We need to move from being a consuming church to being a participating church.
  • Do good, be generous, put your hope in God.
  • Give the best you have for the purposes of God.
  • The Bible is filled with advice about money, possessions, and giving.
  • Step up and say “I'm in!” to God's plan.
  • Don't just give of your money, give of your time and of yourself.
  • Jesus can live BIG in us, if we give of our time, influence, stuff and hearts.

Resurrection Fellowship, the pastors, the staff, and all the congregation cordially invite you to come by our church, to praise and worship the Lord, and to have a excellent fun time in Christian fellowship. The doors are open to all, we would feel highly honored if you did, and you would be very welcome. Come on by! I personally recommend the the Saturday evening service starting at 5PM. But there is also excellent worship on Sundays at 08:30 and 10:30, and all services are live online.

This is the second part of the series "Be Rich", received on Saturday, October 8, 2016. It deals with how to honor God with your abundance. The sermon is available at: http://www.rez.org/sermons/

  • Give willingly, with a heart for the future.
  • We are not very good at being rich…
  • Be of a “get to” faith, not a “have to” religion.
  • When you serve the Lord, “YOU” will be better off.
  • What would happen if we got an “I get to” philosophy instead of an “I have to” philosophy?
  • Blessings can be that catalyst to praise.
  • The heart of God is not moved by how much you give, but by how much of our heart we put into that giving…
  • A few tips on how to give in a God-pleasing fashion…
    • Give obediently. Be faithful to the commands of God.
    • Give joyfully. Make yourself and God joyful by making others joyful. Joyful giving blesses you an others.
    • Give in covenant. With God, with your church, with your family in Christ. Give to those in whom you have a covenant relationship with.
    • Give with vision. Don't just give to whatever. Give looking to God's plan and for the future.
    • Give to be blessed. Give to be in the flow of Jehovah-Jireh.
    • Give to make a difference in the lives of others.
    • Give out of devotion. Be madly in love with Jesus. Be the bride of Christ! heart

This is the first part of the series "Be Rich", received on Saturday, October 1, 2016. It deals with having the correct mindset for being rich. The sermon is available at: http://www.rez.org/sermons/

  • The Bible is the only religious text that has predictive prophesies that have come true hundreds and thousands of years after the prophesy was spoken.
  • Plant roots by your actions and how you interact with others (Luke 3:11-15)
  • Determine to give even out of lack. God gives abundantly.
  • To prepare the way for Jesus, John the Baptist a lot of times went to their wallets. Meaning beliefs and attitudes that the people had about money.
  • Connect your abundance with the Giver…
  • God is Jehovah- Jireh. God provides.
  • When we lead with actions, feelings follow.
  • We need to live the Way so that prosperity complements our faith, which makes people say “I want what they have…”

Scripture verses: Luke 3:11-15, 2 ♦ Corinthians 8:9, 9:11 ♦ Ecclesiastes 5:10,12 ♦ Proverbs 18:11

Be Rich Series

This is a sermon series done by Pastor Jonathan Wiggins, Senior Pastor of Resurrection Fellowship in Loveland, Colorado on what the significance is of being rich and how God wants us to act with the blessings He has given us. There is nothing wrong with being rich, and Jesus never looked down on being blessed financially. In all actuality, as Americans if we are making $48,000 or more annually, we are in the top 1% of the world's wage earners as compared to the other 99% of the world's inhabitant's! The Lord is so good in blessing us with such pecuniary abundance! Praise the Lord! smiley

Thanksgiving!

We should always have in mind that all good things come from the Lord, and an attitude of thankfulness is proper. The Lord does not give us strife, harm, addiction, nor any of the ills of society. The Lord, rather, allows the enemy to tempt us and sometimes touch us with these things. Though none can fathom or understand the mind of God (How could the finite encompass the infinite?) and His reasons for allowing things, we can rest assured through faith that God tests us sometimes via the crucible of fire. When He does so, we are refined as gold or steel is in a smelter, and we are purer, stronger, and better for it. Thus we should always thank the Lord for the little and big things in our life, even when we are in the fire of testing...

Christian Studies and Readings

These are pages dedicated to reading about Christ, Christian topics, and things of our Lord. These started when I became a member of Resurrection Fellowship, after hearing some great, pertinent, and penetrating sermons. Not all may appreciate these pages, but I didn't either, before I found the Lord. Or I would better say, the Lord touched my life. It's not been the same since, I can testify to the truth of that. So whatever your background, denomination, orientation, or whatever, these pages are for you. With that in mind I pray that these pages allow you to better understand our Lord, to get closer to Him, and to allow His touch in your life, in Jesus's Name, Amen!

The "Lord's Prayer" for modern times

Our Father,
Who lives in heaven,
Holy be your name.
Your kingdom come, Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Thank you for giving us today's bread and blessings,
And please forgive us our sins,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
Please lead us from temptation,
And deliver us from the clutches of the Evil One.
For yours is the kingdom and power and glory!
Forever, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Jesus told us “7 And when you pray, do not keep babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.  8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.Matthew 6:7-8 (NIV)

We must remember that God does not lead us into temptation, but He does allow us to be tested by them.  God has also promised that he won't allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13). {quoted from Zondervan Life Application Study Bible, NIV}

Jesus gave us the template for us to pray in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4. Jesus did not say to verbatim repeat the words in the Lord's Prayer, like a mantra. I pray as above because:

  • We live in modern times and the vernacular is different.
  • I believe in thanking God for what he gives freely and consistently every day.
  • I was taught to say please and thank you, especially to our elders and superiors.
  • We can only sin against God, not one another. We do trespass against one another.
  • Praise God first, give thanks, then present your requests. That is the template for praying to God.
